What is an excess?

Put simply, an excess is the pre-agreed sum of money that you pay when you make a claim. You are required to pay this before we will settle your claim as it goes towards the cost of repairing or replacing the phone.

An excess is incredibly common among all insurance providers and is an essential part of the insurance process. However, if you are one of the careful ones, you won’t need to pay excess!

How much is my excess?

If you have successfully validated your phone via our pic-sure process (in our app) to prove that your phone is in good condition without a cracked screen, your excess is as follows:

  • £50 for Accidental Damage and Breakdown
  • £70 for Theft and Loss

Otherwise, your excess is £150.

It’s more for Theft and Loss, because we have to replace your phone, rather than just repair it in the event of damage or breakdown.
