From Hollywood star to senior royal to global influencer, Meghan Markle has become renowned for her stunning, sleek and sophisticated looks, capturing the hearts of trend followers both here and across the Atlantic.
We’ll break down her top looks from head to toe (with some clever data science, social media buzz and consumer demand), to calculate the insurance value of her entire wardrobe (including her jewellery)! Spoiler alert, one outfit alone is estimated to cost just under £4.24m ($4.9m) so the total is a little eye-watering! Let’s start with her first public engagement in 2022…

February 2022
Blue Beauty Look – Insurance Value £4,239,792.19
On Saturday 26th February, Meghan wowed in a stunning blue Christopher John Rogers gown for the 53rd NAACP Image Awards. The beautiful bespoke gown was created in an off-the-shoulder design from blue-ombre silk chiffon, forming a stunning silhouette. Although this is a custom design, similar one-shoulder gowns by this designer sell for around £1,265. Crystal-embellished Aquazzura leather heeled sandals added even more glamour to the ensemble.
Meghan accessorised her gown with Crumpled Metal 14K Gold-Plated Post Earrings by Alex Bittar, a Brooklyn designer whose $275.00 (US) earrings sold out in hours following this appearance, a Cartier ‘Love’ bangle, her engagement ring on one hand and a Lorraine Schwartz Diamond Ring, said to be an ‘eternity ring’ from Prince Harry on the other. Similar to Beyonce’s engagement ring, an 18-ct octagon cut ring from the same designer, the estimated cost of the piece is a cool $5 million! (£4,231,400 by today’s exchange rate). Meghan also wore Princess Diana’s Gold Cuff Bracelet With Blue Stones gifted to her by Harry, which matched the gown perfectly.

The Valentino Power Suit Look – Insurance Value £22,437.67
Following the Opening Ceremony, Meghan attended a reception at The Hague, held for competitors’ friends and family to kick off the Invictus Games 2020.
She looked perfectly polished in a white Valentino two-piece made up of a double-breasted blazer and pin-tucked wool-tailored trousers. Unsurprisingly, there was a 48% surge in Google searches for the term ‘white blazer’ in April, following her appearance.
The suit was balanced with beautifully delicate gold jewellery; two Shiffon diamond rings, a kitten mitten hand bracelet and the ‘Love pendant’ by Sophie Lis which features a diamond plus sign and a ruby minus sign and is poetically inscribed with the French words “qu’hier and que demain”, meaning “more than yesterday, less than tomorrow.” How romantic!
Meghan also wore her Cartier earrings (notably worn on her wedding day) and paired her ensemble with bespoke Aquazurra pumps (also worn on her wedding day) and an ivory Valentino bag.

April 2022
Invictus Games 2020 (The Netherlands)
The international multi-sport event, the Invictus Games, was founded by Prince Harry in 2014 for wounded, injured and sick servicemen and women, both serving and veterans.
Held in April this year (due to being postponed because of the pandemic), it’s no surprise that the Games are very close to Meghan’s heart. And, not only does she attend to support her husband, she gives us some incredibly classy looks while she does.

The Centre Stage Look – Insurance Value £27,788.83
Meghan attended the opening ceremony for the games where she took to the stage to introduce Prince Harry. She stepped into the spotlight wearing a lovely Khaite bodysuit, a pair of tailored black trousers (similar to her Altuzarra Serge Flared Trousers worn to the WellChild Awards in 2018), elegantly paired with black mesh polka dot Manolo pumps (these currently seem to be sold out everywhere but you can purchase the same pair in cream here.)
Meghan added more glam to her look with a gold Cartier ‘juste un Clou’ necklace, her bespoke Lorraine Schwartz Diamond Jacket Earrings, a Cartier ‘Love bangle, a Bentley & Skinner A Diamond Line Bracelet (said to be a gift from her father in law, Prince Charles) and another Diamond Tennis Bracelet, (said to be that of her late mother in law, Princess Diana gifted by Prince Harry). Well, they do say diamonds are a girl’s best friend!

Back across the Atlantic in July, Meghan attended the 2020 UN Nelson Mandela Prize award ceremony at the United Nations Headquarters. She looked a vision in black from head to toe, wearing a Givenchy two-piece and black suede Manolos.
The top part of the ensemble was a custom-made Milano knit top from French fashion house Givenchy (similar style here) and a Givenchy pocket pencil skirt (currently unavailable online but we managed to track down the same skirt in red here).
