From pearls to pumps, we take a royal look at Kate Middleton’s most popular outfits of 2022 so far. We analysed social media buzz (of course), general interest and a bit of Google Consumer Demand data too (now that’s the fun bit).
We give you a breakdown of Kate’s outfits and accessories from some of her most ‘talked about’ appearances from January to August 2022. And, let you know the value of this entire wardrobe for insurance purposes because, why not? Hint, it’s just over £50k. Let’s start at the beginning…

January 2022
Terrific in Teal Look – Insurance Value £616.10
For Kate’s first official engagement of the year, she was seen in this vibrant teal coat as she attended the Foundling Museum in London. She wore the coat over a navy ensemble of roll neck jumper from Hobbs featuring three gold buttons on each sleeve, wide-leg trousers from Jigsaw and elegant midnight blue pointed court shoes from Emmy London.
Now, due to the ‘Kate effect’ her earrings from Accessorize sold out in minutes (oops!) but you can still register for alerts, in case they’re restocked. Coming in at a humble £2.10, this is probably the cheapest thing that Kate has (and ever will have) in her wardrobe, so if you want to live like a royal, getting your hands on this item is your best chance!

February 2022
Danish Delight Look – Insurance Value £2,539.63
In February Kate visited Denmark, where she went in for diplomatic dressing-up and wore the nation’s colours, something she has done on previous trips. This time round she wore a red textured double-breasted blazer from Zara over a white frilled collar top from ME + EM and a pair of black wide-legged trousers from Roland Mouret Axon.
Now, let’s talk accessories. To elevate this royally classic outfit even further, Kate wore cultured pearl accessories; Maria Black ‘Cha Cha’ earrings and a Nura Pearl necklace from Monica Vinader. Black Gianvito Rossi suede pumps finish this outfit off beautifully along with this stunning black Midi Mayfair bag with red lining from Aspinal of London.
The ‘Kate effect’ was in full flow following her appearance on 22/02/22, when there was a 33% week-on-week surge in Google search demand for ‘Red blazers.’

March 2022
Cinderella in the Caribbean Look – Insurance Value £12,700
In March, Kate went on an 8-day trip to the Caribbean as part of the Platinum Jubilee Tour. The tour concluded in the Bahamas, where Kate attended a reception at the Baha Mar Beach Resort in Nassau hosted by the Governor-General of The Bahamas.
Kate wowed in this stunning ice-blue Phillipa Lepley satin gown, paired with Gianvito Rossi silver-toned shoes adorned with Swarovskis (fittingly dubbed Cinderella shoes (aka the shoes that all princesses [at heart] dream of), paired with a blue satin Lulu Guinness clutch and elegant yellow gold mother-of-pearl earrings from Van Cleef & Arpels. Nice. The exact price of Kate’s gown is unknown, however we do know that Phillipa Lepley pieces start at around £6,000 and can only be bought from her boutique in Fulham, SW3.

April 2022
A Dream Come Blue Look – Insurance Value £8,167.50 (without the coat dress)
In the spring, Kate was seen in a very seasonally appropriate powder blue ensemble, as she arrived at St. George’s Chapel for the annual Easter Mattins service. Matching Will, Charlotte and George in colour-coordinated blue outfits, Kate wore a beautiful pastel coat dress by Emilia Wickstead. The stunning bespoke piece features peak lapels and a full skirt with large soft pleats. As it is bespoke, the price doesn’t appear online but similar dresses worn by Kate from this designer, were being sold for £1,350 on Matches Fashion.
Kate wore pointed suede pumps in the colour Riviera and a powder blue suede clutch bag both from Emmy London. Further accessories include a diamond crepe pleated headband with bow detail at the back by Jane Taylor London and beautiful Cavolfiore Pearl Diamond Studs by Cassandra Goad. Definitely not an outfit to do your spring clean in but we don’t think she has to worry about that!

May 2022
Red Carpet Kate Look – Insurance Value £14,960
In a slightly different style to Kate’s usual attire, she hit the red carpet for the premiere of Top Gun in a figure-flattering gown (also described as a bodycon dress). The black and white Lamble dress by Roland Mouret is black for the most part with a white Bardot design at the top and a lace inset and exposed zip at the back.
Following Kate’s red carpet appearance, many dubbed the bodycon dress the ‘must-have’ dress of the summer. This notion could also be seen in the Google search data with a +263% surge in searches for ‘Bardot Dresses’ following her appearance.
For accessories, Kate went for Tsar star studs and drops by Robinson Pelham, a black box clutch with a crystal-embellished clasp (thought to be a bespoke design by Alexander McQueen, although you can find a similar design here) and a pair of black suede Prada wavy-cut pumps. Now, this is the sort of attire you want to be wearing when mixing with Hollywood’s finest. When in Rome…

She wore a white Flippy woggle dress by Suzanne London, paired with black and white suede and patent leather pumps by Alessandra Rich and an Emmy London bag. She accessorised with classic go-to Maria Black Cha Cha Earrings.

July 2022
Bringing the Sunshine Look – Insurance Value £4,417.52
Kate was a ray of sunshine in a marigold yellow dress by Roksanda as she attended the 2022 Wimbledon ladies’ finals in July. She paired her summery ensemble with white leather Gianvito Rossi pumps and vibrant yellow Kiki McDonough Eden Citrine And Diamond Flower Drop Earrings (these currently seem to be unavailable but you can pick up exactly the same design in a lovely blue topaz here.)
Kate also wore a classic straw floppy sun hat from LK Bennett and some Bvlgari 8170 sunglasses because summer isn’t summer without a straw hat and some sunnies.
